NOTE 1: "Ghar-i Asp" (Horse Cave) is a pseudo-autochthonous title disguising a made-up field name for the excavation site AK2 (short for Aq Kupruk number two). Locally, the cave is called Kara Kamar (DUPREE 1972a: 9 note 25). NOTE 2: DUPREE (1972) summarises the archaeological connotation. DUPREE & KOLB (1972) interprete and evaluate excavated ceramics, CALEY (1972b: 49) a metallic artifact, BRILL (1972) a glass sample, SOLEM (1972) mollusks, and PERKINS (1972: 73) faunal remains.
The south-facing cave entrance (DUPREE & KOLB 1972: 33) of Ghar-i Asp (1), an archaeologically important limestone cave or rock shelter (2), is situated somewhere in the vicinity of Aq Kupruk.
