NOTE 1: According to R.L. SINGH (1995: 363), there are only two important limestone quarries in the Kashmir region: One at Khunmuh-Khrew in Kashmir province and the other at Basoli in Jammu province. NOTE 2: GANHAR (s.a. = circa 1973: 62-63, 157-158, ill. 20; after KAK 1933 edited 1971). NOTE 3: The Basholi of STRASSER (1993: 346) and Basohli of GANHAR (s.a. = circa 1973) corresponds to a village above the right (north-west) bank of Ravi River (on the border of Jammu & Kashmir state with Punjab state, India). The place is indicated as »Basoli« at N32°30': E075°49' (nima.mil/geonames accessed 16.11.2003) on AMS sheet NI43-15 Pathankot (U502 series, U502 series, 1959 edition). NOTE 4: GANHAR (s.a. = circa 1973) allows the luxury of three different spellings Visheshvara (page IV), Visvesvara (pages 62, 63) and Visheshwara (illustration 20).
