Description
A man-made rock temple (rock chamber) or rock-cut cave at Sri Ranganathasvami temple, Namakkal (Indian Archaeology: A Review [IAR] 1980-81 / 1983: 144) contains images (rock art) of Narasimha (note 1) and some of the other incarnations of Vishnu, besides an image of Ranganatha (note 2) in a reclining posture (DEHEJIA, V 1969a).
