Rock shelters (or caves?) containing rock art are situated (Indian Archaeology: A Review [IAR] 1960 - 1961: 62) at an unspecified situation somewhere at a place called Kesalpura (note 1) which lies »near« and thus at an unspecified distance in an unspecified direction from Ubaidullaganj (note 2). Compare: –>Bhinyapura shelters, –>Simla Hill shelters.
NOTE 1: »Kesalpura« (IAR 1960-61: 62) is not identified unless it is the Kesla near 22°29'N: 77°50'E (nima.mil/geonames accessed 16.11.2003) but this place lies about 60 km in a direct line SSE of Ubaidullaganj in an area where the districts of Hoshangabad and Sehore meet in the Narmada valley. NOTE 2: Obaidullahganj (India Road Atlas, Eicher Goodearth 2006: 71 E1) is positioned as Ubaidullaganj and Ubaidullahganj near 22°59'N: 77°36'E (nima.mil/geonames accessed 16.11.2003).
