Description
A cave nicknamed Stevie Wonder Cave (because both are reputed to be blind) begins with a supposedly obvious hole [without identified shape or dimensions] near the centre of a square doline [without identified dimensions] with exposed, straight walls on all four sides (Cowper 2007.02.27 Mss) and somehow leads to a completely calcited in and totally blind shaft about 20 estimated metres deep and containing unspecified speleothems. SITUATION: At an unspecified and difficult to retrace location among the numerous again and again discovered possible cave entrances and potholes (note 1) in the Krang basin (note 2) on the eastern side of the Shnongrim ridge. APPROACH: Expedition cavers without orientation had reached this particular obvious hole by walking along an unidentified valley that goes left [sic!] from the camp [note 3] looking downhill [approximately eastwards]. Again no particular feature is distinguishable until an area with lots of exposed karst and wood cutters (with whom we tred to communicate) is reached. From an obvious doline [unidentified shape, unspecified dimensions, ignored GPS position] with a straight piece of limestone [without size], go through an obvious grike and this will get you into the next doline. This is it. From camp to doline is about 15 minutes walk (Cowper 2007.02.27 Mss). CAVE DESCRIPTION 2007a: A lovely but sadly dry and draughtless shaft [estimated 20 m deep], completely calcited in and totally blind, [hence nicknamed] Stevie Wonder Cave [note 4]. The shaft is bolted with a Y-hang rig and -Stevie Wonder- is written by the right-hand bolt (Cowper 2007.02.27 Mss). CAVE DESCRIPTION 2007b: Depression with a clearing with a blind pot c22m deep (Krem Stevie Wonder) (Brooks, S J et al. 2007.03.01 Mss: Diary2007.doc: Tue 27th Feb). PROSPECTS: This cave either stays, sits, or lies because This cave does not go (Cowper 2007.02.27 Mss).A cave nicknamed Stevie Wonder Cave (because both are reputed to be blind) begins with a supposedly obvious hole [without identified shape or dimensions] near the centre of a square doline [without identified dimensions] with exposed, straight walls on all four sides (Cowper 2007.02.27 Mss) and somehow leads to a completely calcited in and totally blind shaft about 20 estimated metres deep and containing unspecified speleothems.
