Location
Kumana (note 2) is indicated on my issue of the -Road Map of Sri Lanka- (Survey Department 1977) where the districts of Hambantota and Amparai meet where the Yala National Park meets the Indian Ocean on the south-east corner of the island.
Description
General description
In addition to archaeologically rich outcrops of rocks with their many caves and incriptions (CEYLON TRAVELLER 1974: ?; 1983: 168), the famous Kumanu villu (note 1) is rich in miles of unexplored golden beaches.
