Description
A so-called »Ghat Cave« (note 1) or rock shelter contains drawings in red pigment (rock art) characterised as »yards of curious scroll-like characters which look like writing« (COCKBURN 1883b: 125-126). SITUATION: At an unspecified »ghat« () at a difficult to reconstruct location in »Mirzapur« (now: Chandauli district, Mirzapur district, or Sonbhadra district) and somewhere in the vicinity of Robertsganj (PTO near N24°41'10”: E83°03'45” Everest 1830) and in Sonbhadra district (India Road Atlas, Eicher Goodearth 2006: 57 G1).
NOTE 1: Not to be confused with –>Dharan Ghat Shelter, –>Khusi Ghat ki Pahari Shelters, or –>Sorhow Ghat Cave.
