Description
Below the »narrow, conspicuous stratum of white rock which looks exactly like a path« that leads to the first –>Etchhiku Cave »… is a similar stratum, also apparently terminating in a cave, which is believed to be the road used by the spirits of the dead animals« (MILLS, J P 1922: 119-120). GANGULI, M (1976: 87) confirms that a line similar to the path leading to the first cave is reputed to be used by the spirits of (dead / recently died) animals who also depart to enter the land of the dead (note 1).
NOTE 1: »Etwas unterhalb zeigt sich ein ähnlicher Strich, der, so nimmt man an, von den Geistern der Tiere benutzt wird, denn auch diese gehen in das Totenreich ein« (GANGULI, M 1976: 87).
