Description
One of the so-called –>Lak Pass Caves consists of an almost rectangular cave entrance (10 m wide, 4 m high) to a murky but daylight-lit cave chamber deteriorating 8 m from the entrance to porcupine sized leads (uninspiring, not pushed to a conclushion) along bedding locally inclined by about 15° towards approximate east and away from the valley below. SITUATION: At a place, which was called Ghoseabad (Chiltan Adventures 1997.11.03 personal communication) but is indicated as Doctor Chah Station (closed) on AMS sheet NH42-09 (U502 series, 1959 edition) at a travelling distance of about 5 km beyond (south) the so-called –>Lak Pass along the road from Quetta to Mastung. Here, about 500 m to the left (east) of the road, about 15 m above the valley floor, and in an obvious spur, which comes almost down to the road from the NNW-SSE trending Kumbelang Ridge. HUMAN USE: Relics of man-made walls and a soot coated ceiling indicate occasional presence of humans though the anmimal droppings are raher ascribed to goats.
