A man-made rock chamber (rock temple) was identified as a Brahmanical cave and Saiva cave, locally known as Rudreswara (Indian Archaeology: A Review [IAR] 1982-83 / 1985: 136). ETYMOLOGY: Rudreswara (Indian Archaeology: A Review [IAR] 1982-83 / 1985: 136) or Rudreshwara (literally: face god), a Hindu god identified as Saiva (etc.) or Shiva (literally: auspicious, gracious).
