Description
Unspecified »rock shelters« (or caves?) at Bharaspati Kund contain unspecified rock art (GUPTA, N P 1984: 201 after Indian Archaeology: A Review (1961-62 or 1962-63). SITUATION: Somewhere at certain »Bharaspati Kund« (note 1) near a place called »Brijpur« (note 2), which lies on the bank of a certain »Baghan River« (note 3) and at unspecified distances in an unspecified direction from Panna (N24°43': E080°12') via one »Pahari« (note 4) to a place called »Kahari« (note 5).
NOTE 1: No lake, pool or well called »Bharaspati Kund« is listed on nima.mil/geonames (accessed 16.11.2003) or in IMPERIAL GAZETTEER (1907-1909, 25: 73) and in the India Road Atlas (Eicher Goodearth 2006 index) —is it a corrupted Sharasvati Kund or a Brihaspati Kund? NOTE 2: No village or town called »Brijpur« is listed on nima.mil/geonames (accessed 16.11.2003) or in IMPERIAL GAZETTEER (1907-1909, 25: 93) and in the India Road Atlas (Eicher Goodearth 2006 index) --all we have is the »Brij Bilas« palace near the Kotah City (N25°11': E075°50' in Washim district, Maharashtra) and one »Chaube Brij Gopal« ruler of Taraon or Tarahuhan (N24°59': E080°57' in Chitrakoot district, Uttar Pradesh), one »Brij Indar Singh« raja of Faridkot (N30°40': E074°45') in Punjab, »Brijh« the founder of Bharatpur (N27°13': E077°29') in Rajasthan, and, last but not least, the famous cavalry trooper »Brijmohan« who started in 1857 the very mutiny at Meerut (N28°59': E077°42') in Uttar Pradesh. NOTE 4: There is not only a Pahari (The Hills N25°21': E080°58' on AMS sheet NG44-10 Banda) at a linear distance of 105 km NE of Panna but also a Paharikhera (Pahari Village N24°51': E080°31' on AMS sheet NG44-14 Panna) 35 km in a direct line / 40 km along the road ENE of Panna (N24°43': E080°12').
