About »22 caves« (SMITH, G 1882: 258) or »a group of twenty-six [26] Bhuddist caves« (rock temples, rock-cut chambers used for religious purposes) and »eleven cisterns (100 B.C. - A.D. 500)« (IMPERIAL GAZETTEER 1907-1909, 16: 10). SITUATION 1882: »Khuda, N.W. of Mahad« (SMITH, G 1882: 258). SITUATION 1908: »Kuda.-- Village in the Mangaon taluka of Kolaba District, Bombay, situated in 18° 17' N and 73° 6' E, 13 miles [21 km] north-west of Mangaon and 2 miles [3 km] east of the north-east arm of the Rajpuri creek« (IMPERIAL GAZETTEER 1907-1909, 16: 10). CAVE DESCRIPTION 1880: BURGESS, J & FERGUSSON, J (1880, edited 1988: 204-209, plate V fig. 1, plate VII fig. 1).
