About 10 million tonnes (note 1) of nummulitic (Eocene) limestone (note 2), up to 20 m thick and capped with siliceous rock, occur on the Baba Hill, which rises about 50 m from the surrounding plains (note 3). SITUATION: Babia HilL is indicated as 294 (feet = 89.6 m asl) near N23°49': E68°47' on AMS sheet NF42-02 Lakhpat (U502 series, 1956 edition) at a linear distance of one or two kilometres south-west of Fulra (note 4), a village that lies at a distance of approximately 12 or 13 km in a direct line south or about 10 miles (15 km) along the road (via Umarsar) from Lakhpat (also: Lakpat) N23°49': E68°47' (nima.mil/geonames accessed 16.11.2003) or at N23°49’30”: E68°46’29” (probably Everest 1830, SEN GUPTA 1957: 103).About 10 million tonnes (note 1) of nummulitic (Eocene) limestone (note 2), up to 20 m thick and capped with siliceous rock, occur on the Baba Hill, which rises about 50 m from the surrounding plains (note 3).
