Villagers of Lakhamandal (N30°43'45”: E078°06'40”) believe there is a secret passage (fabulous subterranean tunnel) that emerges a few kilometres (or so) downstream at a spot which needs to be checked. SITUATION: The entrance to this tunnel, accessible on the very first stage of a certain -Kalsi Lakhamandal Trek- (note 1), lies in the valley of the Yamuna (Jamuna, Jumna) and at an unspecified distance of several kilometres along the road downstream from Barkot (N30°49': E78°12'), the Mussoorie road-head for Yamunotri (Jamnotri, Yamnotri N31°01': E78°27': 3185 m asl).
