KANHERI CAVE 36

A cave (man-made rock chamber used for religious purposes) which appears to have been excavated across the original course of this rock path [leading to –>Kanheri Cave 38 and –>Kanheri Cave 39], and consequently at a later date (WEST 1861b: 116) contains one inscription (rock art: epigraphy) on the right-hand side-wall outside the verandah (WEST 1861a: 6 item 19) and another on the left-hand side-wall outside the verandah (WEST 1861a: 6 item 20).
