Description
The rivers Gunes [note 1] and Dhauli [Dhauli Ganga, Dhauliganga] are mere streams and were half frozen above Gildung [note 2] at their junction … The Gunes may be said to arise from a snow- bed, for I saw snow-caves towards its source … [note 3] (BATTEN 1838: 313). The Dhauliganga, or Dhauli River, coming from the Niti Valley, is approachable from Joshimath (N30°34': E079°34') by vehicle up to Malari town and beyond (divinerevelation.org/HimalayaLong.html accessed 2003.07.08): .The rivers Gunes [note 1] and Dhauli [Dhauli Ganga, Dhauliganga] are mere streams and were half frozen above Gildung [note 2] at their junction … The Gunes may be said to arise from a snow- bed, for I saw snow-caves towards its source … [note 3] (BATTEN 1838: 313).
