The entrance is located 20 m from and 10 m above Ao Tonsai on the climb over to Ao Railay West.
Description
A low entrance, which is floored by a sump pool, extends in to the cliff. The sump starts low (side mount only) and soon drops to 2.4m depth. Here there is an enlargement where the slope of loose stones turns to fine silt and reduces visibility to nil. An area to the right here (facing in) seemed to be a bit larger, but this was difficult to confirm in the visibility. 12m of easy going, where it is best to keep above the floor, surfaces in a pool after a total dive of 18m at a maximum depth of 2.8m. A scramble up a shingle slope leads to 12m of easy walking passage which passes a 6m climb up flowstone on the left to a lowering of the roof and sump 2. This sump is an inviting looking pool with crystal clear water and a small flow coming out of it. Although the passage underwater is larger than in sump 1, deep silt on the floor can soon reduce visibility. Sump 2 was explored for 12m to a depth of 3.6m in a roomy passage which seemed to be dropping away. Sump 2 was pushed to a length of 25m and maximum depth of 10.9m in January 2013. The climb up halfway along was not taken on because my sandals didn't grip the rock very well and the shorts and vest were the only clothing I had with me.
Hydrology and Geology
Resurgence cave with small stream. Evidence in dry cave of a 6-9 inch rise and fall of water level.
