Description
A larger hole, which is much broken and weathered at the fringes and used as a goat pen, reported SCHERZER (1993: 38) from among tube-like openings of various sizes, generally ranging from 5 cm to 30 cm in diameter and reminiscent of phreatic pressure tubes, which occur in an about 50 m high limestone cliff at the head a short valley at the temple of Gouka, which lies about a kilometer north-east (note 1) or 1.6 km east-southeast (note 2) of the karst spings at –>Panch Kund. CAVE LIFE: According to SCHERZER (1993: 38) there are huge honeycombs of bees (Apis dorsata?) high up in the cliff face above Gouka, which add thrill to the otherwise idyllic and tranquil site.A larger hole, which is much broken and weathered at the fringes and used as a goat pen, reported SCHERZER (1993: 38) from among tube-like openings of various sizes, generally ranging from 5 cm to 30 cm in diameter and reminiscent of phreatic pressure tubes, which occur in an about 50 m high limestone cliff at the head a short valley at the temple of Gouka, which lies about a kilometer north-east (note 1) or 1.6 km east-southeast (note 2) of the karst spings at –>Panch Kund.
