Red ochre paintings (rock art) depicting dear, humped bull and human figures (Indian Archaeological Review 1963-1964: 102) are seen in a rock shelter called Bhilla Narayana Gudda / Bhillanarayanagudda or, to be precise, in the cave (bhilla) on the hill (gudda) named after Narayana, which lies somewhere (perhaps near –>Sivapur) in the vicinity of Anegondi (note 1) on the northern bank of the Tungabhadra.

Herbert Daniel Gebauer - 23/03/2016

NOTE 1: Anaigondhi, Anegundi or Anegondi, the »Annagundi, suburb of Bijanugger on the north bank of the Tumbuddra [Tungabhadra River]« of NEWBOLD, T J (1845c: 518-519) lies north-west of Hampi (Hampe) in Raichur (Raijur) district. Some believe Anegondi is the Kishkindha of the Ramayana (vikraman.com/MaruthiPramanam.htm accessed 2002.10.15).
