What appears to represent a modified natural temple cave containing idols of Bala Hanuman and Anjana Devi is situated at a distance of 5 km (vikraman.com 2002.10.15) along the road in an unspecified direction from the village of Aanjana (note 1) or 18 km from [an unidentified location somewhere in] Gumla district (coilnet.bitmesra.net 2007.11.24) or Gumla town (N23°03': E084°33'). ETYMOLOGY: Anjan, the name of a timber tree, Hardwickia binata (IMPERIAL GAZETTEER 1907-1909, 25: v). CULTURAL HISTORY - religious folklore: Anjana Devi Gufa is believed to be the place where Anjana Devi lived. Just near it there is Dhamkiya mountain that sounds when climbed.
