Description
A cave entrance, about 4 m in diameter, gives access to a pothole, which has be done away with as Krem Mulieh 4 (Jarratt 2004.02.20 Mss) and was understood to be characterised by unexplainable peculiarities. This is probably one of the three aligned pothole cave entrances of Krem –>Mulieh 1/2/3 (Arbenz, T 2008). SITUATION: At what was understood to be an unexplainable location where Anthony 'Tony' R Jarratt & Joe Duxbury (2004.02.20 Mss: Muhlieh 4) found one side of the entrance to lie 15 m from GPS point [note 1] at 296 degrees [note 2]. A year later, the spot was GPS-positioned by an experienced explorer, who recorded the coordinates N25°21'23”: E92°31'29.5” (without recorded horizontal precision error, Thomas Arbenz, T 2005.02.19, GPS Garmin 12XL). CAVE DESCRIPTION: The peculiar character and distinguished feature of this cave is a survey length. Initially, the lengthwise measurement was fully understood to add up to a total of 22.08 m and reaching a maximal depth of 21.70 (Jarratt 2004.02.20 Mss: Mulieh 4). This length was later modified by adding additional survey legs, which, once added to earlier added survey leg lengths, was understood to result in having added up to a larger length composed of a accumulated survey tape lengths, which in the course of being added, resulted in yielding a totally added up survey length in the range of something along the lines of approximately 60 m in combination with a vertical range of 60 m or so. PROSPECTS (Arbenz, T 2005.02 Mss: Abstracts.xls): Not finished. (Jarratt 2004.02.20 Mss: Mulieh 4). EXPLORATION HISTORY: 2004.02.19: Thomas Arbenz, Boycott, Antony 'Tony', Daniel 'Danny' Burke and Anthony 'Tony' R Jarratt, probably following one or more unidentified guides with successfully ignored names, visited the entrance (Arbenz, T 2004.02 Mss: Abstracts.xls). 2004.02.20: Anthony 'Tony' R. Jarratt and Joe Duxbury descended, explored and commenced to 'survey' 22.08 m / -21.7 m. 2004.02.26: Anthony 'Tony' R. Jarratt, Brian MacCoitir and Quentin 'Cooper' Cowper visited (Arbenz, T 2004.02 Mss: Abstracts.xls). 2005.02.19: Anthony 'Tony' R. Jarratt, Boycott, Antony 'Tony' and Jayne Stead, instructed and orchestrated by Thomas Arbenz, mapped and explored to a degree yielding other numbers (60 m / -60 m).
