SHIVAPUR CAVE SETTLEMENT

A large Neolithic cave settlement which falls within ancient Kishkidha and includes an ashmound (note 1) reports JAIN (2004: 275) from Sivapur near Hampi (note 2). This cave settlement might have some connection with the Bhilla –>Narayana Gudda, a painted rock shelter in Anaigondhi, Anegundi, Anegondi, Annagoondy (HAMILTON, W 1828,1: 239), the Annagundi, suburb of Bijanugger on the north bank of the Tumbuddra (NEWBOLD, T J 1845c: 517-519) or Tungabhadra River, and presumably the Kishkindha of the Ramayana.A large Neolithic cave settlement which falls within ancient Kishkidha and includes an ashmound (note 1) reports JAIN (2004: 275) from Sivapur near Hampi (note 2).
