A certain Batatota Dahayya-lena, Kuruwita (note 1), which lies in the lowland wet zone and somewhere at Batatota (note 2) near Kuruwita (note 3), yielded the mesolithic radiocarbon date (on charcoal): ca. 7680 - 4835 cal BP (DERANIYAGALA 2002: 5).
