Description
A rather low but wide cave entrance gives accesss to two 5 m long crawls (letter "T" shaped in cross-section) which both lead to a vigorously karstified north-south running rift (about 10 m long) with several, free-climbable 5 m to 7 m deep potholes choked with washed-in soil and flushed-in debris. ETYMOLOGY: No cave name existed in February 1997. Since the cave entrance was on the lands of U Stingson Siangshai (in February 1997 the Chiehruphi village headman), who invited exploration, the cave was called after its owner. SITUATION: Just below a caprock of Eocene Middle Sylhet (Lakadong) Sandstone exposed at a north-south running shallow cliff above the right (eastern) bank of a dry valley approximately east of the church in Chiehruphi village on the road from Khliehriat to Sonapur.
