»Kendrakona: 3 km [sic! for 3 miles of about 5 km north] from Mahendraganj, famous for the surrender scene by the enemy troops in their underground bunkers during the conflict of 1971« (SANGMA 1999: 120). SITUATION: Kendrakona (N25°19': E89°51') is indicated at a linear distance of about 4 km or 5 km east by north of Mahendraganj / Mahendra Ganj N25°18': E89°51' in the most south-western corner of Meghalaya and the West Garo Hills District.
