Description
A »rock shelter« (or cave? with rock art?) discovered A. Sundara (note 1) at an unspecified location. SITUATION: Somewhere in the vicinity of a place called Venkatapura (lit.: stream village) near Anaigondhi, Anegundi or Anegondi, the »Annagundi, suburb of Bijanugger on the north bank of the Tumbuddra« (Tungabhadra River) of NEWBOLD, T J (1845c: 517-519), which lies in Koppal (ex Raichur / Raijur) district. Some identify Anegundi with the Kishkindha of the Ramayana (note 2).
