Description
»Underground water channels in Bidar itself« lists WARD (1991, 1992: 235) among the monuments worth attention. The ARCHAEOLOGICAL MAP OF BIDAR TOWN (in: WARD 1991, 1992: 228-229) explains: »M.H. in this map stands for 'manhole' underground channel of water« and indicates at least eight distinct »M.H.« between the Jami Masjid and the southernmost corner of the walled city. ETYMOLOGY: The Sanskrit noun "dar" is said to designate »cave« (note 1).
