An unspecified sacred cave or rock shelter (temple cave) containing an image of Kandika Devi is situated on the summit of Drishadvati peak near the Srinagar (Garhwal) in Alaknanda valley (ATKINSON 1882 vol. 11 edited 1991, 2: 345 after the 'ancient' (medieval?) Kedara Khanda, a Sanskrit geography claiming to be part of the Skanda Purana).
