Description
An unspecified, locally known cave called »Krem Synrang« (Brian D. Kharpran Daly 1996.03.17 personal communication) is said to be situated somewhere at the base of the cliff below the village of Laitkynsew (±250 m N25°13'00": E091°39'30” WGS84). IDENTITY: Compare Krem –>Mawjymbuin, Laitkynsew. ETYMOLOGY: The Khasi "ka synrang" (noun) is not only the word for »a cave« (in the sence of rock shelter) and »a coping of a rock« (SINGH, N 1906: 216) but also signifies »a nest« (BLAH, E 2007: 198) in the sense of a hiding place where animals dwell.
