Description
The cave entrance is a 7 m by 3 m large daylight window that drops 2 m (note 1) down into a low cave chamber with partially collapsed roof and several obvious traces of exploration. The cave floor is covered with ochre and black deposits of limonite and goethite. Several large ceramic pots, identical with recent ones, are assembled at two places. Rainwater disappears in impenetrable low continuations. SITUATION: DUBOIS (1996: 10) positioned his »Grotte d'Iswal no.1« at the coordinates 777,800 / 2707,800 (unidentified geodetic datum, unspecified source).
NOTE 1: DUBOIS (1996: 10): For the 2m-descend a rope is indispensable. We used a doubled woven 8 mm cotton line which was very smooth to handle.
