Location

Take Highway 41 south from Chumphon Town for about 30km. When you see the Chumphon Horticulture Research Center (10.330363,99.092943) on the right take the next u-turn. Head north about 500m and take the first road to the left. Take this road for 8km till you see a school (10.381659,99.050162) on your left and take the track immediately after the school. There is a small blue sign in Thai indicating the way to the cave. Follow the track for about 1 km and take the second track to the right. Google maps does not show this track, however you will see another small blue sign indicating the way. This track leads you round to the base of the mountain where there are some buildings. The path up to the cave is at the end of the buildings, where you should see some electrical cables going up. Before making the climb up check with the Monk that the lighting has been turned on. The climb to the cave is moderate to difficult and in the rainy season can be a bit slippery. A rope handrail has been put up in places. Martin Ellis - 01/08/2019

Description

The entrance to the cave is rather small, but opens up to large cavern. Whilst lighting has been installed it is far apart so it is worth taking a torch, especially to see the bats in the loft. You will find Buddha images along with impressive stalactites and stalagmites.Very large cavern with many limestone decorations. There are many openings to the sides of the hill. One passage leads to the large balcony on the height of about 100 m above the ground. Despite the presence of shrine inside, the cave is not very polluted.
