Location
Ban Khao Din is 5.5km along the road to the west of the H4037, turning off the H4037 in Ban Ko Tong. This road leads to Ban Khao Kaeo. The cave is located at the bottom of the karst hill at Wat Thongtham Tham Khao Din (also known as Wat Song Tham Khao Din).
Description
This is the main cave in the grounds of the wat and it is gated. The entrance is 10m wide by 5m high and the cave is as a large phreatic meander passage before closing down after 75m. To the left hand side of this entrance chamber a long set of wooden steps lead up to a bat chamber. At the back of the entrance chamber the cave closes down and eventually chokes. A few metres back from the choke a 2m wooden ladder gives access to an oxbow which soon reaches a second entrance on the other side of the hill. The cave is used by monks from the wat for meditation. There are several caves in the hill above the wat.
