Description
An unidentified cave, of which nothing has become known except it's approximate location at a cliff north of one or the other of the churches in the village of Lumshnong (Spindro Dkhar, Lumshnong, February 1997 personal communication). ETYMOLOGY: The origin and meaning of the Synteng Khasi (Pnar) cave name "Krem Wah Iajoh" (Spindro Dkhar, Lumshnong, 1997) has not been identified but seems to signify a "krem" or cave associated with a "wah" or stream (note 1) specified by a Synteng Khasi "iajoh" (note 2) or, perhaps, by a standard Khasi "iashoh" (literally: beat one another), to »fight« (note 3). IDENTITY: Unknown. At an apparently similar location -- at the base of a cliff "north of Lumshnong" -- is the so-called Krem poh –>Shnong (Lumshnong) or »Cave beyond [the] Village« of which no genuine cave name had been recorded. For sure, Krem Wah Iajoh is distinct from Krem –>Wah Jajew (Spindro Dkhar February 1997). Alfred Lanong, also from Lumshnong, had no information on a cave or stream called »Wah Iajoh« or »Wah Jajew« (1999.02.22 personal communication).
