Description
A cave entrance (11 m wide, 2 m high) giving access to an estimated 150 m of cave passages is said to have been found near Mohra Muradu site at Taxila (note 1) or behind Mohra Maudu [sic!] Monastery (note 2) at Taxila (note 3). CAVE DESCRIPTION: From the large entrance (11 m wide, 2 m high) the passage drops steeply down into a large (30 m by 30 m wide, 20 m high) chamber that is home to a colony of bats. A relatively small cave passage under the north east wall of the chamber can be followed for an estimated 15 m whilst on the south-west side of the chamber an undefined cave passage descends through boulders for an estimated 40 m to reach a small bouldery chamber at the furthest reached point of the known part of the cave where the initials -MSG 1984- are painte on the roof along with the word -END-. CAVE POTENTIAL: Prospects for further extension are limited (Brooks, S J 1997 Mss: Pakistan Cave Database) but dilation will make this cave wider, larger, or more open. CAVE LIFE: Bats (Chiroptera). on the roof along with the word -END-. CAVE POTENTIAL: Prospects for further extension are limited (Brooks, S J 1997 Mss: Pakistan Cave Database) but dilation will make this cave wider, larger, or more open. CAVE LIFE: Bats (Chiroptera).
