An entrance without identified shape or dimension appears to give the impression of looking like something reminiscent of a pothole cave entrance (Jarratt 2002.02.26 Mss: Krem Umlangi - Previous cave record apparently lost). ETYMOLOGY: The Khasi verb -lang- means to congeal, to solidify (SINGH, N 1906: 108) — a hint on flowstone or calcareous tufa? SITUATION 2008: Follow riverbed to where water sinks. Complex series of pots and grykes to E of streambed (Janossy 2008.02.23 Mss: Umlangi). SITUATION 2002: On path from Tongseng [N25°19'28-: E92°30'05” WGS84] to Ticha in streambed (Jarratt 2002.02.26 Mss: Krem Umlangi). POSITION 2008, WGS84: N25°19'43.8”: E92°30'46.6” : 1032 m asl (Janossy 2008.02.23): GPS point at large tree just above a point where it is possible to walk down into the bottom of a rift to a pot. POSITION 2001, WGS84: N25°19'44.3”: E92°30'45.3” (H.D. Gebauer 2001.02, 4-channel Magellan 2000XL; repeated in Jarratt 2002.02.26 Mss: Krem Umlangi). CAVE DESCRIPTION (Jarratt 2002.02.26 Mss: Krem Umlangi): Undescended. CAVE DESCRIPTION 2 (Janossy 2008.02.23 Mss: Umlangi): Floor visible estimated 7 m down but rocks seen to go further down. CAVE DESCRIPTION 3 (Brooks, Simon J. undated amendment to Janossy 2008.02.23 Mss: Umlangi): Pothole. TACKLE: Brooks, S.J. (undated Mss amendment to Janossy 2008.02.23 Mss: Umlangi) suggests Rope / ladder 10 m. PROSPECTS: Janossy (2008.02.23 Mss -Umlangi- 23.2.08) has seen … rocks … to go further down while Brooks, S.J. (undated amendment to Janossy 2008.02.23 Mss -Umlangi- 23.2.08) has not seen this item but anyhow draws attention to a possible continuation.
