Description

Herbert Daniel Gebauer - 06/01/2018

An unspecified cave entrance (unidentified shape, unidentified dimensions, unidentified orientation, unidentified characteristics) was said to give access to what was identified as an estimated 10 m long kind of canyon passage without identified peculiarities or dimensions leading to a relatively large (sic!) cave chamber of unspecified dimensions, which is characterised by unidentified peculiarities. Here, an estimated 7 m or 8 m descent (not negotiated) would need tackle (ladder, flying carpet, or so) to gain what appeared from above to represent a mud covered floor and at least one possible and apparently relatively small (sic! no size mentioned) cave passage off at floor level (after Harper, R 2002.04.31 -megahlay.doc- item # 35). ETYMOLOGY: No autochthonous, indigenous or locally known cave name has been identified for what had been intended to christen Second Stream Cave (in Khasi: Krem Um ba Ar) but was inadvertently conceived as a -Krem Um Arsien- or Twice Stream Cave (note 1)and, in the end, gestated as a seriously deranged Krem Um Ar Skin (sic!) reminiscent of whatever one deems proper to imagine. IDENTITY: At nearly the same spot, only 32.5 m in a direct line further NNE but vertically 74 m higher up, somebody (no name mentioned) had recorded a GPS near (allegedly ±10m) N25°11'44.2”: E091°38'16.3”: 114 m asl (WGS84, unidentified recorder, undated, Garman [sic!] 12 GPS) for the cave entrance to a certain Krem Umshkin (Brooks, S J 2012.08.09 Mawsynram GPS - Locations Part 1; Brooks, S J 2012.08.15: Meghalaya 2012 - Mawsynram GPS Locations 15-8-2012.doc). SITUATION: Not only in an unspecified setting and at an unidentified location but also in an unspecified spatial relation near (McManus, Stuart in: Harper, Rob 2002.04.31 Mss -megahlay.doc- item # 35) –>AA Cave Shella 3rd (note 2). APPROACH: The entrance to this cave was really thought to be accessible by walking from an unidentified village (neither name nor position, location, or setting mentioned) or an unspecified distance south along an unspecified main path (with unidentified characteristics) up to an unspecified, relatively small cliff (unidentified size, unidentified orientation, unidentified peculiarities) on an unidentified left without orientation (perhaps east), where an unspecified, relatively small path with unidentified peculiarities leads after an unidentified distance in an unidentified direction off to the left (sic!) to an unspecified, relatively small cliff (sic!) of unidentified size, unidentified orientation, and unidentified peculiarities (McManus, S in: Harper, R 2002.04.31 Mss: megahlay.doc # 35). Thus directed, it is only evident to consider a local guide essential (McManus, S in: Harper, R 2002.04.31 Mss: megahlay.doc # 35).or an unspecified distance south along an unspecified main path (with unidentified characteristics) up to an unspecified, relatively small cliff (unidentified size, unidentified orientation, unidentified peculiarities) on an unidentified left without orientation (perhaps east), where an unspecified, relatively small path with unidentified peculiarities leads after an unidentified distance in an unidentified direction off to the left (sic!) to an unspecified, relatively small cliff (sic!) of unidentified size, unidentified orientation, and unidentified peculiarities (McManus, S in: Harper, R 2002.04.31 Mss: megahlay.doc # 35). Thus directed, it is only evident to consider a local guide essential (McManus, S in: Harper, R 2002.04.31 Mss: megahlay.doc # 35).
