Description
The most extensive workings as yet opened are … on the side of a deep croom facing to the East (at e on plan). Here the coal has been excavated in five headings, which have been carried in some distance (about 9 fathoms) [16.45 m] … (OLDHAM, T 1859: 147). SITUATION: Unknown. The letter -e- shown on the Plan of the Plateau of Lakadong (OLDHAM, T 1859 plate) indicates a location on the plateau (note 1) and about 250 m (±100 m) in a direct line approximately northeast from Krang –>Umtngier (note 2) and thus in the vicinity of Brown's cave at –>Lakadong (note 3).The most extensive workings as yet opened are … on the side of a deep croom facing to the East (at e on plan).
