History

EXPLORATION HISTORY: 2014.02.08: An unidentified Umkyrpong village headman, whose name was beyond the observation power of expedition cavers, had told Brian D. Kharpran Daly on 8th February 2014 the names of three caves which were recorded as Krem –>Lyntung, Krem –>Sakwe, and Krem Tarong (Anonymous [Brooks, S J et al.] 2014.04.05 Mss: Diary Meghalaya 2014 Second Edit: 8th February, Saturday). 2015.02.05: Daphyrnai Sariang from Umkyrpong, then acting as a guide, walked Brian D. Kharpran Daly, D. Khlur B. Mukhim and Oana Mirela Chachula from Umkyrpong to the west, starting at the village end of the bridge [note 2], to find new caves. … the first one was Krem Lyntung, half an hour’s walk from the camp. … They wanted to locate Krem Tarong, which was said to be a bat cave. Even the local guide was not sure about the exact location but Khlur followed the stream and found [an unidentified] the cave [–>AA Cave, Umkyrpong 2015 1st] and no bats were found whereupon Tarong was left unsurveyed fo the time being (Anonymous [Arbenz T, Brooks S J et al.] 2015.04.03 Mss: Diary 2015.docx 5th February 2015 Thursday).
