What appears to consist of a group of man-made rock chambers (cave dwelling) or modified natural rock shelters used for Tibetan Buddhist monastic troglodyte purposes (hermitage retreat cells) reported FRANCKE, A H (1907 edited 1998: 10, 98) and GERVIS, P (1954: 194) from »Nyizlapug [note 1] at Saspola« (note 2) or »Nyiziapur« (note 3), which lies at a distance of »14 miles« (23 km along the road) in an unspecified direction (north-west?) »from Lamayuru« (note 4).
