There is an unspecified cave or rock shelter on the Ghuttu - Khatling Glacier Trek (note 1). IDENTITY: Bhumkodaar (ideas2travel.com/travel/khatling%20glacier.htm, accessed 2002.11.08) or the -odar- at Bhumka (AMS sheet NH44-05 Dehra Dun, 1959 edition) is possibly one of the –>Khatling Shelters or –>Khalting Caverns. ETYMOLOGY: Words like odar, udhyar, udyar, etc. mean house, home, cave and the like. SITUATION: On the left-hand side of a trail that runs from the camping ground Bhelbagi (Bhalbagi N30°46': E78°56') past Bhumkodaar (Bhumka N30°46'30”: E78°56'30”: circa 11,000 feet / 3350 m asl) and (two or 3 km) past –>Tamakund Cave to a place called Bhedikharg (note 2) at 3700 m asl and 11 km on foot short of Khatling Glacier (Khatling Bamak N30°49': E78°55': circa 15,000 feet / 4575 m asl).There is an unspecified cave or rock shelter on the Ghuttu - Khatling Glacier Trek (note 1).
