MORAHWA CAVE AND SPRING

Cave + Spring is indicated on Survey of India sheet 63-C/16 (1977 edition) but no cave was shown to me (note 1) by the Morahwa pundit (temple guide), only a shallow sandstone rock shelter (note 2) adjacent to a spring (ca. 0.2 ltr/sec on 7th March 2003). SITUATION: On the northern edge of the Guptagodavari Reserved Forest, some 2.5 km due east of –>Gupta Godavari Gufa, and in the south-west of –>Chitrakoot. The site is reached by taking the road from Chitrakoot (also: Chitrakut) towards Satna (N24°35': E080°50'). At kilometre ten (note 3), take the road to –>Gupta Godavari Gufa (to the right / west) and proceed for 4 km via Pathra to the village of Paldev (note 4).
