INTRODUCTION: The fascinating wordCavs (sic!) is indicated on the District Planning Map (note 1) at a location north-west of Pulo Milo (note 2), an island in the Gateway Bay north-west of Pulo Panjang = Little Nicobar Island (N07°20': E093°40'). ETYMOLOGY: -Pulo- is a Malay word for an island (personal experience) and the official -cavs- may represent an informal -typo- (typographical error). IDENTITY: This Cavs (caves), though two or three kilometres offset, might stand for the caves at –>Kavak (note 3) of which the proper location is quite crammed with references to -huts, permanent-, submerged rocks, and the enigmatic cryptonym LWL (mere guesswork: Low Water Level).
