Notes about the cave

Entrance to the cave is a small black metal structure. Many of the passages in the cave are very small, so I think if you dont fit through the metal structure at the start, then you may not fit through the corkscrew ( likely the tightest main portion of the cave, which is in the center of the birthing canal). There are a few other tight squeezes inside the cave, and it tends to be fairly claustrophobic to some people. The cave has a larger room called the party room towards the start, after proceeding through the mantrap shoot (also a tight squeeze). It is about a 150ish foot crawl to the end, where there is about a 150ish foot decent down a vertical shaft. There is some rigging in there currently, although I wouldnt trust the current set ups that are within the cave and would always recommend using your own gear. At one point, the cave was tried to be blocked and there was cement poured, this was later blown by dynamite, so part way through the birthing canal, there is an old cement sill, where you can see the cement that used to block access to the rest of the cave. There are many maps for this cave, and it was previously referred to as IXL cave, although recently has been know as Hellhole cave due to the small squeezes associated with getting to the bottom. Toward the bottom of the cave, there is a budda room and the hall of faces, where there are many clay faces that were made by people who entered the cave. There is also a old ammo box with a variety of memorabilia form previous people. This cave is pretty trashed, lots of graffiti, lots of structures that are missing. There is one last soda straw piller located at the very bottom of the cave past a very tight sideways squeeze that shows the beauty the cave once held. It is still a very interesting cave to explore and it is located close to a college campus.
