Description
The east-north-east facing cave entrance (18 m wide, 5 m high), which is separated by a massive pillar (6 m by 8 m in diameter) into two neighbouring cave entrances and had been closed with a bat trap in March 1997, is partly covered by corroded and fallen limestone boulders, lies hidden in the jungle, and gives access to about 100 m of a sand-floored stream cave passage leading to the steep slope of an apparently impenetrable collapse in the far end. SITUATION: About 120 m south of the cave entrance to Krem –>Mawkanong, but below (south to south-east) the road from Nongjri village proper on the hill slope down to Nongjri Bazar in the plains. CULTURAL HISTORY - Human use: In March 1999, this cave had recently been used as a hunting ground for nice to eat bats. CAVE LIFE: Either bats (Chiroptera), deep fried bats or no more bats..
