Description
Topographie
TABOROSI, DANKO; HIRAKAWA, KAZUOMI; SAWAGAKI, TAKANOBU (2005)
The cave is a 100m wide undercut at the base of a tower which is up to 20m tall. From the back of the undercut two passages extend into the hill. The southern passage, 20m wide and 3m high, is partially blocked with breakdown and speleothems before opening into a downward sloping chamber around 30m long. The northern entrance is narrower. After 25m it doubles back on itself and closes down after another 25m.. There is a colony of over 100 bats at the end of this passage. The microclimate of and speleothem formation in this cave has been closely studied (the average temperature in the innermost part was 25.1¦C). The speleothems at the entrance are strongly influenced by biological factors.
