Description
A 3rd century sculpture, which depicts the Hindu god Indra and his retinue visiting Buddha while he stood in Indrasala Cave, represents the rare, if not unique case of a mobile, man-made natural cave. SITUATION: The original Indrasala Cave is near Rajgir in India (Bihar State, Patna district) but the sculpture, found at »Jaulian, Taxila, Rawalpindi, Punjab« (note 1) is now held by the Peshawar Museum (note 2).
