Description
A reputedly 60 m deep »pothole« (note 1), apparently representing a whirlpool, reported (DUTT 1981: 15) from an unspecified location in the riverbed of the Krishna near Srisailam (N16°05': E078°52'): »Joints have facilitated the creation of deep potholes by the swirling action of water in stream courses.«
NOTE 1: For a whirlpool, a depth of 60 m is astonishing, even if the alleged »60 m« stand for 60 feet (20 m or so). Is it 6 feet deep? Or is it a pool 60 m wide?
