Description
General description
A pothole or the mouth of a shaft is rumoured (note 1) to be depicted on the 10,000 Afghanis bank note (note 2) as a limited dark area (note 3) in the hillside above the ancient -pol- (gateway) at the ruins near Lashkargah (note 4), Helmand district. This is possibly the entrance to one of the man-made undergrounds at –>Qal'a-i- Bost (Kala Bist, Kalabust, Kala-i-Bist, Qala Bist, Qal'a Bust, Qal'a-i- Bast, Qal'a-i- Bust, Qalai Bost, Qal-e Bost, Qal'éh Bost, Qal'eh-ye Bost). GARDIN (1963); SCHLUMBERGER et al (1978) needs to be checked.
