A little but perfect cave in miniature –stalactites and stalagmites [speleothems] and all (CEYLON TRAVELLER 1974: 241; 1983: 243). SITUATION: At the foot of the eastern escarpment of the Kandyan table-land and in the Knuckles foothills (note 1) at a spot overhanging the quite famous ruin of Sita Kotuwa or Sitakotuwa and Seetakotuwa (note 2).APPROACH: CEYLON TRAVELLER 1974: 241; 1983: 243) suggests to find a guide to this cave at Gurulupota [N07°20': E080°56'] bazar [note 3] just below the series of [eighteen] hairpin bends … on the road (highway A5) from Kandy (N07°17'47”: E080°38'06” WGS84) generally eastwards to Mahiyangana (N07°19'00”: E080°58'58” WGS84).A little but perfect cave in miniature –stalactites and stalagmites [speleothems] and all (CEYLON TRAVELLER 1974: 241; 1983: 243).
