Numerous [man-made] cavities due to the extraction of ore [note 1] exist with two rock cut temples at one end of cliffs (GLENNIE, E A 1947a: 41). Compare –>Belgaum Rock Temple, Hindu. SITUATION: At an unspecified location somewhere at or near the town Belgaum (15°52'N: 74°30'E). CAVE DESCRIPTION: T-shaped in plan it starts with a low square passage leading to a higher room at right angles. At the junction of the T is a simple life-size figure of Budda [sic!] in a sitting posture. Some vandal has struck off and removed his head.
